OLD NEWS 2008

 Latest News – 31st July 2008

Everything is going well – weather looks a bit intermittent – bring something to keep warm and to keep of a little rain.

Camp Market - Sun, Wed, last Sat.

As usual we will have some small markets (blanket on ground or small table top) for people at the camp to buy and sell – so everyone gets a chance to do something we will probably have 3 lunch time markets for about an hour on 1st Sunday, Wed afternoon and Last Saturday. So bring things to sell and have fun.

Brazilian Dance Classes!
We have a very special guest, Mariana Pihno teaching Samba, Samba Reaggae and Maracatu on Sunday 3rd of August
For the rest of the week Sarah
Hyams will be joining us again, doing Brazilian dance workshops, working towards a final piece for the cabaret and the Latin party night.

Colour Dance with Ronni

Colour dance is an amazing form of free dance allowing you to explore your feeling and the soul of dance within a shifting set of coloured light. Being immersed in the specially filtered light is amazing; to flow and explore your connection with the world and more importantly your connection with you.

Lots for the kids to do: Kids area with Groovy Sue, Dance for kids and teens. African drumming and rhythm for Kids. A special Kids Show on the Party Weekend, Circus skills learn to Juggle, Diablo, Poi. Kids theatre. Lots of Kids fun. Meet the ferrets

Bring Drums

We have a variety of beginner/intermediate drum teachers turning up across the camp, Egyptian Tabular and African Drum bring your drums to play at Drum fires and at the Fire Show Extravaganza on the party weekend Saturday night.

Pole Dance Workshops

Bring shorts (short ones are best, if you would like to do pole dance lessons) so you can get better grip. There will be pole dance classes for the lads – so find your shorts lads!

Circle Crawl - Evening Sunday Aug.

Don’t forget the Circle Crawl on the 1st Sunday evening. This is where all the circles (most people camp in circles) get to entertain the rest of the camp for 20 minutes, then everyone goes to the next circle. So prepare your party pieces and bring your props. Major fun for the last couple of years J

 Life Essences Workshop

A interesting workshop for the weekers will be to make ‘Life Essences’ to enhance your well-being in life. If you have some small empty jars with lids 30 mils to 150 mils or small jam jars – wash them well and bring them along.

Fancy Dress - Dance the Night Away in 2008

We have put on a couple of fancy dress discos by special request:

bullet

DIY Disco 2009

This was amazing - great mixes - great tunes - more music than you ever knew. More please!!! :)

This is your chance to be a 15 mines DJ. Bring your favourite dance music about 5 tracks 15mins or so, on a CD or as MP3 with a play list

Think about the start track and your big finish track. Give it a title. Bring lots of 15 min sets if you like of different dance styles. We will use these on various dance nights.

Don Mobile 07768 796497 if you have questions.

The hot tubs went very well, with extreme hot tubing being a very hard fought award and a great new sauna :).

Looks like we may have: Circle Dance, Bacchante Samba & Mambo, ..... workshops  There will be juggling, poi, fire poi
and stuff, African dance and drumming workshop, and Egyptian dance and drumming. And voice stuff. And Oh, and
Tango will great.

There will be: Colour dance, Wave, 5 rhythms, and Dynamic Dance Meditation.

In the evenings were bouncing with the; Chilled French Café scene 1st Friday evening, a new theme Disco and a Thur Party Night. Last years Doctors and Nurses was amazing, and the Latin Beach Party a great dance night, so we have kept the themed evenings, WE WILL PUBLISH THE THEAMS FEB 2009 to start looking for outfits.

As well as the best bits from previous years, there is now be a proper wooden floor in the main marquee for this year's camp. This will allow a Tango event again, so bring something sophisticated to wear.

We're getting VERY serious with the folk and circle dance as we also hope for a Latin Night this year, so prepare to be stunned.

We also hope to see some juggling, the return of drum fires, and better organisation for clearing away at the end - discounts still available to willing hands at time of posting.

Looking forward to seeing you there!

Previous years have included workshops in Salsa and Latin Music, circle dance, Flamenco, Egyptian dance and drumming, African drumming and singing, Line dance, Rock & Roll, Morris, Indian dance, Universal Peace dance and many others.
